Brenda Bannister has lived in Somerset since moving from London in 2010. 
The story of her first book, The Tissue Veil, was set among the buildings and community of Tower Hamlets, where she worked in a college library.

In 2014, she became one of the founder members of Frome Writers’ Collective, and is now an FWC co-chair.
She has won prizes for her short stories and poetry, and is due to publish her second book soon.
